Alternative Movie Posters. PART I: Daniel Norris.

I do love a good ol’ redesigned movie poster don’t you?

Movie poster artwork is so imaginative and alive these days and yet you never really get a true sense of it when the official poster is released.
Some time ago, I put up some poster artwork which in my opinion, DESTROYS the official material and you can see it by clicking HERE but today, I’d like to show you some work by a talented feller named Daniel Norris…

For a lot more from Mr. Norris, check out his Flickr stream HERE.

Concept Art: James Cameron’s “Terminator”.

That James Cameron is a very clever man.
As if writing and making “The Terminator” wasn’t enough,
It turns out that he’s a talented as fuck artist too!
As can be seen here in his concept paintings for “The Terminator”.

Some trivia from IMDB:
Lance Henriksen was originally considered for the role of The Terminator. Writer/director James Cameron even made early sketches showing The Terminator looking like Henriksen. The original concept was for the character to be able to blend into a crowd. Cameron approached Arnold Schwarzenegger and wanted him to play the role of Kyle Reese, but after their meeting, Schwarzenegger and Cameron both wanted Schwarzenegger to play the title role, so Henriksen was cast in the role of Det. Vukovich. Curiously, Henriksen later got to play the part of a humanoid cyborg when he played Bishop in Aliens (1986), also directed by Cameron.

With two disgracefully pointless and badly made sequels, ít’s easy to forget how terrifying the idea of “The Terminator” really was at the time.
