The Painting Of A Lhasa Apso: Part 1.

Right now, I am staring at an unfinished Acrylic painting of a Lhasa Apso dog I’m working on.

If you’re not familiar with this breed, It looks something like this:

I hate painting dogs.
I can’t do it well.
I’m not the best painter and I find it frustrating and difficult.
I find that I can’t control a paint brush as well as I can control a pen.

Whatever.
A friends’ dog died and she asked me to do a painting from a photo.

It’s now 10:30pm here and I started it at 9:30am.
I’ve been at this non stop and it’s frustrating the utter fuck out of me.

I’ll get it finished and I know I won’t be happy with it but I’ll get there in the end.

I’ve decided to call it a night on the work tonight.
I can’t get my colours correct and like I say,
I hate painting dogs ’cause I’m bad at it.
I also don’t like painting from photos.
Look. I’m just not good at this kind of thing!
Some people are and I’m not.

The photo above is not the one I’m painting from by the way.
That’s just a random one from the internet to show you what the breed looks like.

Anyways, I’m off to stare at it some more in it’s unfinished glory.

I should hopefully have it finished in the next 2 days and I’ll post the result so you can understand what I’m talking about.

Al.
