John R. Neill.

I’ve been banging on about John R. Neill now for years to anyone who will listen.

Incase you don’t know who he is,
He was the guy who illustrated most of L. Frank Baums’ Oz series of books and totally defined it all for me.

L. Frank Baum wrote 14 Oz books from 1900-1920.
The first & most famous one: “The Wonderful Wizard Of Oz” was illustrated by a feller named W.W. Denslow. His illustrations were nice but nowhere near on the same scale as John R. Neills’ work.

L. Frank Baum is known world wide, Ol’ John R. Neill is nowhere near as celebrated or spoken of really.

I mean, the guy doesn’t even have a myspace page made up for him.
People have even made pages for household things like bleach and tea bags and all that crap.
But no John R. Neill.
