I’ve never been one for musicals but 2 nights ago Anna took me to see Avenue Q and it was A-MAZING!
That doesn’t mean that I’m all of a sudden converted or that I’ll be rushing out to order the soundtrack to “Annie” or anything but I really loved Avenue Q.
You know Avenue Q.
It’s been marketed as Sesame Street for adults and people like me who never grew up and all in all, that’s basically what it is but it’s so much more than that.
I mean, when did you last hear The Muppets from Sesame Street say “Fuck You!”?
When did The Muppets ever tell you that everyone is at least a little bit racist?
And when did you ever witness Kermit and Miss Piggy 69ing each other in a wild, steamy sex romp?
Exactly.
That’s where Avenue Q comes in.
Avenue Q will make you sad and happy. It’ll make you say things like “Shit man! How the hell did they do that?” and above all, it’ll make your belly ache with laughing and potentially embarrass the hell out of you.
You’ll love it and if you don’t then you’re probably completely dead inside.
