Glasgow Cathedral At Sunset From My Window.

I thought that the title of this post would explain everything but it doesn’t quite.

I took these photographs from my living room window last night at 10pm and they show the silhouettes of Glasgow Cathedral and The Royal Infirmary Hospital…

Album Artwork: “A Circus Of Vaginas”.

Hi folks, here is my latest album cover artwork for ”A Circus Of Vaginas” which is the debut of Glasgow lesbian Punk outfit, V For Vagina.

When will the album be released?
- I don’t know.

Where can you buy the album from?
- What am I, a swami? I just draw the pictures okay?

Do you know anything about anything Al?
- YES! A Woman’s heart beats faster than a Man’s and that’s a fact!

From sketching out the layout ideas to the finished piece, all in all, the album artwork took around 9 days to complete. I used a black bic biro pen (my favourite artistic implement) and some thick children’s coloured pencils on heavy duty, rough grained paper.

V For Vagina gave me one of the best illustration briefs I’ve ever received. They said:
So long as it says: ‘Circus!‘, ‘Punk!‘ and ‘Lesbian!‘, and includes the colours red and yellow, you can do whatever you want with this album cover Al.”

So I did.

Al Cook’s “Necropolis”. Cut Loose: Part I.

Part II was supposed to be out long before now but I had conflicting ideas of where I wanted it to go.
Zip on over to Al Cook’s “Necropolis” to see Part I of ‘Cut Loose’ in all its glory and where Part II will appear in the not to distant future.

Oh aye!

Al Cook’s Necropolis Memories.

My comic strip Al Cook’s “Necropolis” is about to change and so, I thought I’d share some memories.
…Ahh, memories.
…ARGGHHHHH! MEMORIES!

Last month I decided that my strip was over detailed and I had a good mind to make it really scratchy and quick but just as I was about to do that, Christmas arrived and Anna presented me with a rare Glasgow comic book called “The Bogie Man” and that changed everything.

A while ago, I mentioned “The Bogie Man” HERE but I had no idea how detailed it was inside and how good it looked because of it.
So that’s that. Next time you take a look at Al Cook’s “Necropolis”, things should look pretty different.
