“The Crucifixion”: A Preview.

Along with all of the other recent blows to the Catholic Church’s credibility, my own personal one will be out around Easter 2013 via my comic-strip. Al Cook’s “Necropolis”.
Here are some new preview images.

The Victorian Statues In Glasgow’s George Square.

Regarding the moving of the Victorian statues from Glasgow’s George Square

In THIS article, Herald columnist Catriona Stewart writes:
“For those shedding molten copper tears over their loss: name them.”

We don’t have to name them Catriona in the same way that we don’t have to know the names on every tombstone in the City’s Victorian graveyards or the names of the architects who designed each building.
BECAUSE IF THEY’RE LEFT WHERE THEY ARE WE CAN GO AND LOOK AT THEM WHENEVER WE FLAMING WELL PLEASE CAN’T WE!?

…But since you asked,
Rabbie Burns, Sir Walter Scott, James Watt, Robert Peel, Wullie Gladstone, Queen Victoria, Jimmy Oswald, Lord Clyde, Thomas Graham, Prince Albert, Tam Campbell, John Moore, some soldiers and those big Lions.

Al Cook’s “Necropolis”: Please Give Blood.

Hi folks, this is the latest entry in my macabre Glaswegian comic-strip, Al Cook’s “Necropolis”.
It’s called “Please Give Blood” so please do!

As always, the main place to view Al Cook’s “Necropolis” in all of its complete and black biro penned, sinister hand-drawn wonder is HERE.

* Footnote:
I sent this “Please Give Blood” strip off to the Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service asking them to get behind the comic etc… and they said:

Hi Al,
Many thanks for your enquiry.
I’m afraid this is something we will not be able to support.
Best regards,
Leigh.

That aside, please do give blood. It’s very very important and not painful at all.

Al Cook’s “Necropolis”. Cut Loose: Part I.

Part II was supposed to be out long before now but I had conflicting ideas of where I wanted it to go.
Zip on over to Al Cook’s “Necropolis” to see Part I of ‘Cut Loose’ in all its glory and where Part II will appear in the not to distant future.

Oh aye!
Please become a pal on the Facebook Page because it’s pretty lonely over there.

Al Cook’s Necropolis Memories.

My comic strip Al Cook’s “Necropolis” is about to change and so, I thought I’d share some memories.
…Ahh, memories.
…ARGGHHHHH! MEMORIES!

Last month I decided that my strip was over detailed and I had a good mind to make it really scratchy and quick but just as I was about to do that, Christmas arrived and Anna presented me with a rare Glasgow comic book called “The Bogie Man” and that changed everything.

A while ago, I mentioned “The Bogie Man” HERE but I had no idea how detailed it was inside and how good it looked because of it.
So that’s that. Next time you take a look at Al Cook’s “Necropolis”, things should look pretty different.
